The Kittitas County Historical Museum offers an educational experience for K-12 students. The KCHM offers tours, instructional sessions, and scavenger hunts to meet the educational needs of a class.
Student understanding of county history is enhanced by visiting the museum. Often students do not realize they are learning while they enjoy the activities we plan for them.
Teachers should contact the museum no later than 10 working days prior to the desired visit date to make sure we can accomodate the class and to tailor the instructional component of the visit to the curriculum. If this will be the first visit to the museum, the teacher should contact the museum at least 4 weeks prior to the desired visit date to allow sufficient planning time.
Class sizes are limited to 25 students per visit. A minimum of 1 chaperone (parent or teaching assistant) to every 5 students is expected for all classes.
